Biosorbents from Tomato, Tangerine, and Maple Leaves for the Removal of Ciprofloxacin from Aqueous Media

Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that effective in vitro against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Since the ciprofloxacin, along with other pharmaceuticals, can influence environment, goal of this study was to examine possibility ciprofloxacin removal from water using biosorbents, an unconventional cheaper subclass adsorbents. For purpose, effect ionic strength, pH, temperature, different mass used biosorbent, physical-chemical characteristics biosorbents on sorption investigated. Biosorbents, study, are various waste products like maple leaves (ML), tangerine peel (TP), tomato (TW) (seeds peel). Sorption parameters were determined by linear, Freundlich, Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms. The highest value coefficient, Kd, shows leaves, while minimum achieves sample peel. These values correspond analysis distribution pore size, where has lowest specific surface area. obtained results indicated potential investigated which ultimately contribute environmental protection disposal products.
